Erica Messina is a New York City-based School Counselor, born and raised in the Washington Heights/Inwood neighborhood, with a passion for providing students with abundant post-secondary opportunities. After graduating from Cardinal Spellman High School, becoming a counselor wasn't always her first choice. She initially dreamed of becoming a Forensic Psychologist, but life led her down a different path. As a first-generation college student, Erica often found herself navigating high school and the college application process without the institutional support she needed. The struggles she faced in finding her own identity and passions inspired her to pursue a career in school counseling.

Now, with both practical and theoretical knowledge of the education system, Erica specializes in college advising and is committed to supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and career development. Her goal is to equip students with the motivation, guidance, and tools necessary to succeed in their post-secondary endeavors. As a counselor, she strives to offer a smooth and educational approach to the college application process, ensuring students feel emotionally supported as they explore their interests, passions, and futures. Growing up, Erica loved reading, watching and participating in sports, and helping others—interests that have all shaped her success as a counselor today.
